Revolution | London recently announced the official launch of xBOLT for INSIGHT In-Drum Temperature Monitoring, an in-drum temperature monitoring solution built on the patented INSIGHT Mixer System — representing the first temperature sensor fully integrated into a mixer control system without third-party add-ons or external software that provides real-time, in-drum concrete temperature visibility throughout transport and delivery. Developed in partnership with EXACT Technology and built on INSIGHT, this new capability brings temperature intelligence into the cab—where it has never existed before—helping producers and fleets protect load quality, reduce risk, and make informed decisions in temperature-sensitive conditions.

xBOLT for INSIGHT uses a fully wireless, temperature sensor integrated into a drum hatch bolt, engineered into a drum hatch bolt in a fully wireless, self-contained design. Live temperature data is displayed directly within the INSIGHT interface, allowing operators and quality teams to monitor concrete temperature from plant to pour without introducing additional screens, devices, or workflows.
“Once concrete leaves the plant, producers have had limited visibility into what’s happening inside the drum,” said Bryan Datema, Vice President at Revolution | London. “xBOLT for INSIGHT changes that by delivering real-time temperature visibility through the INSIGHT Mixer System during transit—helping producers protect load quality, reduce risk, and make better decisions before the truck ever arrives on site.”
The system made its public debut at ConExpo, where Revolution | London showcased xBOLT for INSIGHT on-site and received strong interest and positive feedback from the ready mix industry. Attendees consistently highlighted the value of seeing concrete temperature in real time during transit, particularly for operations working in extreme climates or managing longer haul times.
“By combining EXACT’s in-drum temperature sensing technology with Revolution | London’s INSIGHT system intelligence, we’re giving producers visibility they’ve never had before,” said Jordan Korenzvit of EXACT Technology. “The response at ConExpo confirmed how important real-time temperature data is once concrete leaves the plant.”
As the first mixer control system to natively display in-drum concrete temperature during transit without third-party hardware or software, xBOLT for INSIGHT helps reduce rejected loads, prevent costly rework, and support consistent quality. The system is designed to integrate seamlessly with INSIGHT’s existing logic and reporting, extending system intelligence without adding complexity for operators.
xBOL for INSIGHT will be standard on all new Revolution | London mixers equipped with the INSIGHT Mixer System beginning July, 2026, and is available for aftermarket installation on Revolution, London and McNeilus Mixers equipped with the INSIGHT Mixer System or FLEX Controls. The sensor’s rugged, maintenance-free design is engineered for washout environments, vibration, and requires no wiring or truck modifications
