A 15-year journey of Saudi manufacturing, engineering innovation and mission-critical power solutions earns EPEC the title “Power Electronics Manufacturer of the Year Global 2026″.

In an environment where industries, infrastructure and essential services increasingly depend on uninterrupted power, reliability is more than a technical requirement—it is a foundation for continuity. Eram Power Electronics Company (EPEC) has spent more than 15 years building that reliability into the power systems that support some of the region’s most demanding applications.

Established in Saudi Arabia in 2011, EPEC has grown from a local power electronics manufacturer into a company with a growing international footprint, combining Saudi-based manufacturing with engineering and R&D capabilities to develop high-reliability solutions for critical applications. Its products are deployed across more than 20 countries, serving sectors including energy, utilities, defence, aviation, water, healthcare, industrial infrastructure and renewable energy.

This journey has now received global recognition. World Business Outlook has awarded Eram Power Electronics Company the title “Power Electronics Manufacturer of the Year Global 2026.”

The recognition reflects a company built around a clear industrial philosophy: localise advanced technology, engineer for demanding regional conditions, manufacture with precision and remain closely connected to customers throughout the lifecycle of their systems.

Built in Saudi Arabia, Engineered for Critical Applications

At the centre of EPEC’s operations is its manufacturing facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The facility provides the foundation for local production, enabling EPEC to develop solutions around specific customer requirements rather than relying solely on standardised products.

Its portfolio encompasses industrial UPS systems, battery chargers, inverters, frequency converters, DC-DC converters, lithium battery packs and solar charge controllers. These systems are designed for environments where power interruptions can affect production, safety, communications, transportation or essential services.

EPEC’s approach combines its Saudi manufacturing base with investment in production and R&D capabilities in India. This wider technology ecosystem supports continuous product development while allowing the company to maintain its focus on Saudi localisation and regional customer requirements. The result is a portfolio capable of addressing applications ranging from industrial backup power and DC systems to renewable energy integration, specialised aviation requirements and a lot more.

Powering the Infrastructure Behind the Kingdom’s Growth

The scale of EPEC’s experience is best demonstrated by where its systems operate.

Within Saudi Arabia’s energy sector, EPEC has supplied power solutions to major Saudi Aramco facilities, including refineries, upstream operations, gas facilities and strategic pipeline projects. Its UPS, battery chargers and solar-powered systems support monitoring, control and other critical functions in demanding operating environments.

For Saudi Electricity Company, EPEC has supplied high-reliability UPS systems, battery chargers and DC solutions to hundreds of substations across the Kingdom, supporting continuous grid operations. Its solutions also support water infrastructure operated by organisations including SWCC, NWC and WTTCO, contributing to the reliable operation of desalination plants, pumping stations and treatment facilities.

The company’s industrial footprint extends to SABIC and its affiliates, Ma’aden and other major industrial organisations, while its power systems have also been deployed across transformative developments including NEOM, Sindalah, the Red Sea Project, AlUla, Diriyah, Riyadh Metro, King Abdullah Port and SPARK.

In aviation and defence-related applications, EPEC has supplied power systems to 14 major airports across Saudi Arabia, as well as military airbases, radar stations, seaports and other critical infrastructure. The company has also developed specialised frequency converters for aviation applications, demonstrating its ability to engineer solutions for highly specific requirements.

Its capabilities extend beyond conventional power systems. Since 2022, more than 60,000 CellWatt lithium batteries were delivered for road surveillance applications across the Kingdom. EPEC also designed and manufactured 3,000A and 4,000A industrial battery chargers for Kuwait and numerous systems for DEWA and ADWEA, demonstrating its capacity to engineer high-current systems for demanding applications.

Investing in the Next Generation of Power Electronics

EPEC’s growth has been accompanied by a deliberate focus on technology.

Its R&D activities include wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN), advanced solar charge controllers, aviation-grade inverters, modular power supplies, lightning protection systems and intelligent battery management systems. The company is also developing smart monitoring and predictive-maintenance capabilities, alongside digital twin models for design validation and performance optimisation.

These technologies point towards the next stage of industrial power electronics—systems that are not only more efficient and compact, but increasingly intelligent, connected and capable of providing insight into their own operating condition.

For EPEC, innovation therefore goes hand in hand with localisation. The objective is not simply to manufacture equipment locally, but to build the engineering knowledge, technology and manufacturing capability required to create increasingly sophisticated power solutions from the region.

At the Helm of the Journey: Mr. Jacob Thomas

Behind this expansion stands Mr. Jacob Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Eram Power Electronics Company, whose leadership has guided the company through a period of technological development, manufacturing growth and regional expansion.

The strength of EPEC’s proposition lies in the integration of several capabilities—manufacturing, engineering, R&D, product development, customer support and an understanding of highly demanding industrial applications. Leading such an organisation requires more than managing growth; it requires maintaining a clear connection between technology, customer requirements and long-term industrial strategy.

Under Mr. Thomas’s leadership, EPEC has continued to strengthen its focus on advanced power electronics, localisation and technology-driven solutions, while expanding its presence across critical sectors and markets. His approach has been centred on building capabilities that allow EPEC to respond to increasingly specialised requirements while maintaining the reliability expected from mission-critical power systems.

It is against this backdrop that Mr. Jacob Thomas has received the title “CEO of the Year Energy & Power Industry Global 2026” from World Business Outlook. The two recognitions together reflect both sides of the organisation’s progress: the capability of the company and the leadership driving its direction.

As the Middle East continues to invest in industrial capacity, infrastructure, renewable energy and resilient critical systems, EPEC’s journey continues to be defined by a simple objective: to develop and manufacture dependable power solutions that keep the systems that matter most running.

From its manufacturing base in Saudi Arabia to its expanding engineering and technology ecosystem, EPEC is building not only power electronics products, but the capabilities required to support the region’s next generation of industrial and infrastructure growth.
