Fanuc Corporation, a global leading provider of CNC, robotics, and factory automation products, has introduced the new collaborative robots CRX-5 i A, CRX-20 i A/L, and CRX-25 i A, the latest additions to its popular CRX series that includes the CRX-10 i A and CRX-10 i A/L collaborative robots.
FANUC will demonstrate the five CRX models at IREX (International Robot Exhibition) from March 9 to 12, 2022 at Tokyo Big Sight at booth E4-04, and IREX Virtual from March 1 to 18, 2022.
Eric Potter, GM of FANUC America’s Automotive Engineering and General Industries Groups stated, “Our CRX cobots are designed for all types of manufacturers, small or large, looking to expand their capabilities and overcome labor issues. With the addition of these new models, we offer the broadest line of easy-to-use cobots available on the market today.”
Potter further adds on: “FANUC’s CRX family of cobots offers the same intelligence and reliability that our yellow robots have offered for 40 years. When you consider everything our CRX cobot series has to offer, including eight years of maintenance-free operation, it is an excellent choice for customers looking to minimize costs and increase productivity.”
Fanuc corporation claims that its latest CRX cobots complement FANUC’s existing line of CR and CRX cobots which now total 11 cobot model variations to handle products from 4 to 35kg. The launch of the new CRX-5 i A, CRX-20 i A/L and CRX-25 i A cobots , which provide a payload of 5 kg, 20 kg, and 25 kg respectively, follows the CRX- 10 i A and CRX-10 i A/L.
Both feature a payload of 10kg and a reach of 1,249mm and 1,418mm respectively. The CRX models combined with FANUC’s CR series of eco-friendly cobots expand FANUC’s ability to help more businesses looking to automate with cobots.
Fanuc corporation also claimed that its CRX line of Cobots is a safer, easy-to-use, reliable and versatile solution for a wide range of applications, including inspection, machine loading/unloading, packaging, palletizing, sanding, welding, and more. CRX cobots can detect external forces in the workspace and come to a safe stop upon contact with a person or object. This technology allows the CRX to work safely around people without the need for expensive guards.
Fanuc also added that it’s most cobots are lightweight and compact in design, but FANUC CRX cobots offer so much more, including industrial ruggedness and maintenance-free performance for up to eight years. Additionally, interactive programming allows users to teach points using manual guidance or a tablet interface with drag-and-drop icons.
The series supports several of FANUC’s advanced features, including i RVision, and is a perfect fit for any business looking to achieve greater efficiency, even those that have yet to use their first robot.
Fanuc’s sources reported that it will start shipping production units of the new CRX-20 i A/L in April 2022. The CRX-25 i A and CRX-5 i A will be available in June 2022.
