Global technology leader Lenovo has announced the appointment of Dr. Tolga Kurtoglu as the company’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), succeeding Dr. Yong Lui to further accelerate the group’s technology vision and AI leadership.
Lenovo also announced the formation of a new Emerging Technologies Group, which will help the company anticipate emerging technology trends and translate them into future business growth opportunities. Dr. Yong Rui, who has led Lenovo’s research as CTO for the past seven years, will assume the role of head of the Emerging Technologies Group.
Dr. Kurtoglu is recognized for his groundbreaking achievements in the IT industry and has extensive leadership experience, including serving as CTO and Global Head of HP Labs at HP Inc., CEO of Xerox Palo Alto Research Center, and leading the Product Development group at Dell. Additionally, he holds numerous patents and has published numerous papers in the areas of automation and machine intelligence, computational design, systems engineering, and 3D/digital manufacturing.

In this role, Dr. Kurtoglu will be responsible for leading Lenovo’s research team, driving the innovation ecosystem and ensuring the alignment of the group’s technology vision with the company’s overall business goals. He will also serve as a member of the company’s leadership team, the Lenovo Executive Committee.
