The act or the process of maintenance solutions has conventionally been either reactive or preventive. Maintenance works are undertaken either in the event of a disruption or as part of a schedule agreed in the Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC). It tends to lead to the excess use of spare parts inventory or labour resources. It has been observed that under the guise of maintenance, parts with existing operational life are being replaced, sometimes with inferior quality. This has led to performance losses where the actual throughput does not match the ideal throughput of the machinery. On the other hand, sometimes parts are not replaced on the assumption that they could operate optimally until the next scheduled maintenance time. This leads to unforeseen (rather avoidable) downtime in manufacturing. According to some global estimates, most factories lose 5 percent to 20 percent of productivity annually due to downtime from equipment failure or unscheduled maintenance. This led to the need for the development of AI-based Predictive Maintenance Solutions.

Current market for this futuristic innovation

As per some reports, the predictive maintenance market was valued at USD 8.53 billion in 2023. The same report also predicts that the value will increase to USD 105.66 billion by 2032. Another report revealed that the AI-based predictive maintenance market grew from USD 840.09 million in 2024 to USD 939.73 million in 2025.

Companies are adopting AI-based solutions to reduce the downtime of their manufacturing units. Advancements in AI have been a catalyst in the shift from traditional schedule-based maintenance solutions to data-based, dynamically adaptive maintenance solutions. AI backs current predictive maintenance solution providers with integration of complicated data analytics, advanced machine learning algorithms, cloud-based and edge technologies, with an array of smart sensors and connected devices that enable real-time decision-making. AI-based predictive maintenance solutions further promote streamlined cross-industry collaborations and partnerships, especially between established and emerging players.

The Americas are the leaders in the adoption of advanced AI systems in the manufacturing and logistics sectors. While economic stability and rapid AI adoption fuel the market in the Americas, strict regulatory frameworks and high emission standards drive the market for AI predictive maintenance solutions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Asia-Pacific region benefits from a large manufacturing base, and thanks to its close ties to European and American entities, we are witnessing a very high adoption rate of IoT and AI solutions.

Predicting the Emerging Global Market Leader

World Business Outlook introduced the award title ‘Leading Provider of Industrial AI-based Predictive Maintenance Solutions South Korea 2025’ to honour the company that has showcased real-world improvements in operational efficiency and equipment uptime. This is an award title that highlights the importance of cutting-edge AI technologies in predictive maintenance. The winner of this award title has been selected based on the ease of integration of the AI solutions with the existing industrial systems and IoT devices. The Jury of World Business Outlook, through their close ties in the industry and long-standing experience in the market, analysed the accuracy and reliability of the predictive models.

Special consideration had been given to the ethical deployment standards, especially towards compliance with data privacy and security standards. The winner of this award title earned it for their intuitive user interfaces for operators and maintenance personnel, and the robust feedback mechanisms for constant improvements. The 2025 winner, FutureMain Co. Ltd., was unanimously selected by the jury members for their 35+ years of dedication and commitment towards facility engineering and facility diagnostic services.

The Jury Members raised a separate round of applause for FutureMain after they completed a Proof of Concept (PoC) with Saudi Aramco, marking the introduction of its flagship ExRBM solution into the Middle East. They garnered a lot of attention at the recent MWC25 in Barcelona and at the World IT Show 2025 as well.
