Telness Tech, a leading telecom technology provider, has partnered with VAS2Nets and Lebara to launch a new Mobile Virtual Operator (MVNO) in Nigeria. The initiative will launch a telecom service targeting Nigeria’s fast-growing telecom market, bringing Lebara, an internationally renowned telecom brand, to a new region and broader market while leveraging Telness Tech’s industry-leading software and customer experience.

The project was made possible through an ambitious collaboration between several international telecommunications companies.

Lebara is one of the world’s most well-known MVNOs, operating directly in five European markets and with brand licenses in five additional countries, now including Nigeria. Telness Tech’s fully automated platform will simplify and automate the process of onboarding new operators, enabling an industry-leading customer experience. Processcom will also play a key role, providing the mobile core infrastructure required for the network to function. Vas2Nets will serve as the lead partner, coordinating all international companies involved in this collaboration.

Martina Klingvall, CEO and founder of Telness Tech, expressed her excitement about the partnership: “This multinational partnership enables us to bring cutting-edge telecommunications technology to Nigeria and is an important step in Telness Tech’s rapid international expansion following its recent entry into the US market. Enabling a well-recognized brand like Lebara to enter new markets, combined with our advanced technology and VAS2Nets’ local expertise, will bring world-class services to Nigeria’s digital users.”

The multi-million-dollar agreement will be a multi-year agreement covering the rollout of prepaid and postpaid mobile services, as well as future PBX solutions. Telness Tech will provide key OSS and BSS platforms to ensure smooth customer management and operations. VAS2Nets, as a key partner, will lead the new operator in its quest to become one of the first new mobile operators to go live in Nigeria.

Teniola Stuffman, Executive Director of Vas2Nets’ Business Development Group, stressed the importance of this partnership:

“This project enables us to provide affordable mobile services to the Nigerian people through the combined expertise of VAS2Nets, Telness Tech, Lebara and Processcom. This positions us as one of the first new mobile operators in Nigeria in many years, providing the best technology and products on this basis. We are proud and confident to be leading this joint effort.”

Daniel Upson, Director of Partnerships at Lebara, commented: “I am very excited about the combination of our brands, Telness Tech’s technology and VAS2Nets’ local expertise and I am confident that we will deliver a truly world-class experience to Nigeria’s mobile consumers.”
