BostonGene, a developer of cutting-edge AI-based models for oncology and immunobiology, has announced a strategic research partnership with Kyoto University, a leading research institution in the fields of medicine and science.
This study supports a multicenter Phase II clinical trial led by Professor Manabu Muto of Kyoto University, evaluating the safety and efficacy of combination therapy using immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) in patients with advanced gastrointestinal cancer. This investigator-initiated trial is funded by Meiji Seika Pharma Co., Ltd.
Professor Manabu Muto stated, “By combining PDT and ICI, we aim to improve antitumor effects in patients with limited existing treatment options. BostonGene’s AI-powered molecular and immunoprofiling will deepen our understanding of the tumor microenvironment and enable us to identify characteristics related to long-term clinical efficacy. Ultimately, this will support precise and personalized treatment strategies for patients with advanced cancer.”
BostonGene will integrate genomic, transcriptome, immunological, and clinical data from this study to identify molecular signatures and immune response patterns associated with treatment response and resistance. This will establish a scientific foundation for future patient stratification and combination therapy development.
