Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, has announced that Jason Dunnachie has joined the Firm as a Principal and Practice Leader of the Research and Development (R&D) practice in Australia. Based in Sydney, he will work with clients across Australia, Asia-Pacific, and worldwide.
Dunnachie has specialised in R&D tax incentives for nearly 30 years and spent most of his career at a Big 4 accounting firm where he held numerous leadership roles and was the most senior member of that firm’s Australian Global Investment and Innovation Incentives team.
“Jason is a prominent leader in the Research and Development sector in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Jon Sweet, Ryan President of European and Asia-Pacific Operations. “By combining the strength of Ryan’s existing R&D practice with Jason’s professional background, knowledge of the R&D space, and leadership capabilities, our R&D practice is poised to lead the industry and better serve clients in Australia and worldwide.”

A leading expert in innovation and investment incentives, Dunnachie is at the forefront of policy discussions and has contributed to the debate on R&D tax incentive reform.
“I am excited to have joined a firm with a true global outlook,” said Dunnachie. “Ryan’s approach to working with global clients and enabling teams to work across borders is something that other firms can only aspire to.”
Dunnachie holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with specialisation in taxation from Western Sydney University. He is a registered tax agent, and a member of the Australian Government National R&D Reference Group.
