Shanghai Electric (SEHK:2727, SSE:601727) displayed its latest energy innovations at Enlit Asia 2024, the premier conference and exhibition for the power and energy sector in Southeast Asia, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from October 8 to 10.
According to Industry sources, Shanghai Electric displayed its comprehensive portfolio of energy innovations, with an exhibition booth featuring comprehensive green energy technologies marking its latest accomplishments in clean coal power, solar power, hydrogen power, and multi-energy technology, offering global attendees a glimpse of Shanghai Electric’s cutting-edge products designed to facilitate the global transition to greener energy.

Industry sources added that in response to the rapid growth of solar energy in Asia, Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group introduced its latest Hency solar products to meet the region’s growing demand. These included the Creator 210R series heterojunction modules and the Pioneer 210R series TOPCon modules, which offer a bifacial rate of up to 90% and a peak output of 640W. The firm also displayed its “Intellectual” and “Edgeless” series solar solutions that debuted at the 17th SNEC PV Power Expo, which prioritize safety, real-time optimization, and rapid maintenance to improve operational efficiency.
Industry sources further confirmed that in the hydrogen energy sector, Shanghai Electric has brought its innovations to the entire hydrogen value chain from production to storage, refueling, and utilization. At the booth, the company displayed its industry-leading alkaline water electrolysis and PEM water electrolysis technologies, with its new next-generation Z-series alkaline electrolyzers setting the latest industry-standard with a peak current density of 10,000 A/m² and remarkably low DC power consumption reaching 4.1 kWh/Nm³ at 4000 A/m.
Industry sources further added that in the field of energy storage, Shanghai Electric displayed a broad spectrum of advanced technologies, including compressed air storage, lithium battery storage, flow battery storage, flywheel energy storage, and molten salt thermal storage, which are equipped with features that enable utilities to provide reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity while ensuring long-term grid security and resilience.
During the exhibition, the firm displayed a wide range of core equipment and pioneering products such as compressed air energy storage systems, molten salt heat storage, and exchange systems, as well as customized solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial energy storage, along with UPS backup power supplies, all of which captured the attention of visitors who engaged in discussions with Shanghai Electric for future partnerships and collaboration opportunities.
