HSBC Singapore announced recently the appointment of Alan NG as the new Head of Business, SME Banking, the HSBC’s specialist coverage division supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Alan Ng has 15 years of expertise and he will be assuming a new role as head of business banking at financial services firm, HSBC Singapore, where he will lead the company’s specialist coverage division backing small and medium-sized enterprises.

Mr. Ng joined HSBC in Singapore in 2008 and since then he has held the coverage as well as the sales roles across the Bank’s trade and commodities divisions. In 2017, Mr. Ng became Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance, HSBC Taiwan, and in 2020 took up his most recent role as Head of Global Trade and Receivables Finance, HSBC Vietnam. Prior to joining HSBC, Mr. Ng spent over 10 years at various banks in Singapore.

Ng will replace Li Lian Ng, who assumed a new coverage division in March 2022, supporting internationally-minded mid-sized businesses in Singapore.

Ms. Li Lian stated: “Alan’s many decades of experience both in Singapore and around Southeast Asia will be of great benefit to our SME customers, and will enable HSBC to continue to capture more share of this growing market.”

Since 2018, HSBC Singapore has continued to invest in its Business Banking division to support the increasing number of internationally-minded SMEs in the Republic. Investments have included:

HSBC Global Wallet – the bank’s first multi-currency digital wallet, enabling SMEs to pay and receive internationally like a local.

HSBCnet for SMEs – an enhanced and tailored online banking platform.

SME Green Loan – a first in Singapore, drawing directly on existing green. International Business Banking – a dedicated coverage proposition to support inbound referrals.
