possesses extensive river systems and mountainous terrain, creating ideal conditions for
hydroelectric development. The company owns and operates 10 hydropower plants with a

Extension Project) These facilities include major assets such as Nam Ngum 1, Nam Leuk, Nam
Mang 3, Xeset 1, Xeset 2, and Nam Khan 2. The company sells electricity generated by these
plants primarily to Electricité du Laos under long-term power purchase arrangements, ensuring
stable revenue streams and a secure supply of electricity for the nation.

investment. Revenue is derived primarily from electricity sales, dividends from joint ventures,
operation and maintenance services, and related energy activities. The company continually
evaluates new investment opportunities and infrastructure projects that can expand capacity
and improve efficiency. By maintaining a diversified portfolio of wholly owned assets and
equity investments, EDL-Gen strengthens its financial resilience while supporting the growing
energy demands of Laos and neighbouring countries.

The company has also demonstrated commitment to quality management, risk management,
and employee training programmes that enhance operational reliability. Continuous monitoring
systems, reservoir data management, safety standards, and structured maintenance procedures
help maximise generation efficiency while minimising downtime. These practices enable the
company to maintain high levels of performance across a geographically dispersed portfolio of
hydropower facilities.

Officers of EDL-Gen, has been honoured as the “Best CEO of the Year in Energy & Power
